ASPIRIN
The sides effects of aspirin can include internal bleeding and in children the disease "Reye's syndrome" which attacks the brain and the liver causing vomiting, lassitude, drowsiness, confusion, delirium, coma and death.

Once regularly used as a sleeping aid, the drug Thalidomide was the worst drug disaster in the history of medicine. The side effects to patients taking the drug include nerve damage, dizziness, cramps and numbness to the fingers.
The damage caused to unborn children included extra digits on hands and feet, paralysis, mishapen body parts, cleft palates, missing limbs, blindness, missing organs, severe internal organ damage and brain damage.

An extremely powerful tranquiliser, Largactil has the following side effects; hypothermia, loss of white blood cells and in extreme cases death.

Used to treat irritable bowels it has the following side effect; defective eyesight.

Used to treat upset stomachs and diarrhoea, it has the following side effects; tingly feet and eventual blindness.

Used as a treatment against acne, pimples and zits, it has the following side effects; deformities to unborn children, including brain damage.

Used as a treatment for cystisis the side effects to allergic patients are skin burning and blistering and in extreme cases death.

PARAFFIN INJECTIONS
Used during the 19th century, paraffin wax was injected into patients to firm up skin and remove blemishes and wrinkles. The side effects included the eventual wandering of the paraffin wax. It permeated tissue and was almost impossible to remove.
Wrinkles that had been removed eventually returned and unsightly bumps and lumps would appear on the face and neck.

The popular surgical reconstruction of the nose. The side effects include the nose not being the expected shape and scar tissue forming inside the nose causing a blockage.

BLEPHAROPLASTY
Also known as eyelid moulding the side effects are as follows: the upper eyelid may be impossible to close completely during the healing process and on rare occasions loss of vision.

CHEMICAL PEEL
This procedure removes the outer surface of the skin with a sterile mild corrosive solution to remove spots and blemishes of old age. Side effects include skin sensitivity and swelling and also shiny skin for a time. Pores may appear enlarged and infection scarring are possible.

NASAL DECONGESTANT
In Islington, England, a man who was given a trial dose of drugs to ease nasal congestion suffered various side effects which made him act like a madman including visiting hostess clubs, buying £100 bottles of champagne, buying a Bentley Turbo car and moving his business office unnecessarily without reason.
The man later stated, "I was acting like a madman and it was the drugs that made me both a stupid businessman and obsessive sexually!"
